Artisan Home Improvements Wibsey
Do not use this company until you have read the information below...
Artisan Home Improvements installed replacement fascias, soffits and gutters at my home in Wibsey on 25th July 2008. This work is covered by the company's ten year guarantee. Click the link below to read an account of the problems which I have since experienced, and the difficulty I have had getting the owner Darren Ludbrook to do anything about it.

The development of the Urban Village Programme within Bradford South
In March 2004, the Executive Committee of Bradford Council decided that the Council would support the development of "Urban Village Action Plans" in a number of communities that were neither inner city nor rural. The Urban Village Funding (£75,000 per area) was allocated to seven pilot areas across the district and in Bradford South this included Queensbury and Wyke.
In April 2005, the Executive decided that Urban Village Action Planning is undertaken in an additional four areas across the district and in Bradford South this included Low Moor and Wibsey.
Most of them have been wound up once the money was spent, but here in Wibsey we felt that there was an opportunity to do something more lasting, so the urban village committee working together with Wibsey local councillors has decided to draw up an urban design statement for the village.

CE Electric UK delivers electricity to 1.5 million customers in Yorkshire and north Lincolnshire through its subsidiaries, the licenced distribution companies NEDL and YEDL, below is an excerpt from their "special needs" page on their Website:

We are aware that some of our customers may have additional requirements and require priority treatment for a variety of reasons. They may be elderly, disabled or have a chronic illness. Some may have sight or hearing difficulties. Some may be reliant on electrical equipment at home, like kidney dialysis machines, ventilators, specially designed beds or chairlifts. If as a result of this you need us to advise you in advance of planned interruptions to your supply, you can register with us.

Postcards of Old Bradford

If you are one of the many Wibsey folk who are interested in the history of the village and the surrounding area,Wibsey Horse Fair I can recommend a visit to the website of Ted one of our members. The site, which is very professionally put together, is a collection of postcards depicting views of Wibsey and other areas of Bradford, Ted has very cleverly given you the option of viewing the address side of the card thus enabling you to see who the card was addressed to and the comments of the sender. One postcard with views of Forster Square was posted from Bradford to Sheffield in 1903, and one, which I particularly like with views of Judy Woods near Wyke, was sent from Bradford to Blackpool in August 1903. The site also contains many interesting photos of Old Wibsey.
